This Year, 4-H Stands for Hooray, Hallelujah, Happy, and Hard Work

Remember last summer when I was disappointed in myself for having stupid, last-minute crafts for 4-H Achievement Day?

Not this year!  This year I was on the ball, and I didn't even have to sacrifice not competing against myself in exchange for having crafts I'm proud of.

It worked out that I had three crafts ready before I even came home for the summer.

For starters, I had to do the paintings for art class first semester, so I'll use my favourite one.

All of my paintings were tea themed and based off of Andy Warhol's work.  This one is my favourite because, frankly, it was the easiest and most fun to do, but I also like the simplicity of it.  The best part is that the tea bags are actually painted with tea!

I figured I might as well use the mug cozy I made earlier this year because I did a good job of it and it showcases a new skill.

Lastly, I have a cushion that I made out of a latch hook kit.

This one I was able to "cheat" with.  The back is crocheted, but because the main point of it is the latch hooked front, it won't go in the crocheting section and I won't compete against myself.

All that's left now is record sheets and project tags.

Even though I couldn't have competed again with my speech because of school, I managed to have a speech prepared in time to present to the whole club, not like last year.  I didn't have to "speechify" anything either.  Judging will still be on make up judging day, but that can't be avoided.

All in all, it's been a much better 4-H year.  Go me!
